Moruya Waterfront Hotel Sold by HTL Property

The Moruya Waterfront Hotel on the New South Wales Sapphire Coast has been sold by leading national pub brokerage agency, HTL Property.

This is the second asset sold on the Sapphire Coast this year by HTL Property, following the recent successful sale of the Narooma Hotel. The sale was managed by HTL’s Blake Edwards and Ben Kennedy.

The popular venue is a freehold going concern hotel and motel featuring a bar, bistro, gaming room, 22 motel rooms, bottle shop, and a sprawling riverside beer garden. Perched upon a 5,422 m2 allotment with expansive views up and down the Moruya River, the community meeting point also enjoys a vista over the nearby hinterland. The venue is favoured by a 2am liquor licence Monday to Saturday and operates 8 valuable gaming machine entitlements attached to the hotel licence.

The hotel underwent a high-profile and extensive sale campaign before being successfully acquired by Canberra-based Agnew Group. Agnew Group already owns and operates the Hive Motel in Moruya in addition to one other pub asset in NSW.

“We were not at all surprised by how well the asset was received by the market during the sale process, with multiple buyers contesting the sale,” advised HTL Property Director Blake Edwards.

Blake Edwards and Ben Kennedy are now focusing on marketing the Star Hotel in Milton and hoping to continue HTL’s winning run on NSW’s South Coast.
